Merman Guarding The Treasure - Sculpture Finished

Now available for sale in my ETSY store Click HERE to go there

This video shows an all around view and detail of my original Merman Sculpture Assemblage.
The sculpture is about 15 inches tall and about 15 inches deep, and weights 12 pounds.

I started with sculpting the head and then the body, after that I decided on a support base and the eventual water environment. The whole project includes found items, plants, sculpted parts, painted and gilded stone... and more.
There is also embedded in the water (epoxy resin) a lidded box that would be great to hide an engagement ring or small gift!

I finished the Faux Water (Epoxy Resin)

Here are some updated pictures on my art doll assemblage

I created the water pond environment using two part epoxy resin. It turned out great. I poured two layers. Letting the first one dry. That allowed me to have two layers of embedded objects and leaves as well as faux diamonds. After all Merman is guarding a treasure of gold and lapis lazuli as well as diamonds. There is a Small box embedded sitting in the water. You can take off the lid and it is perfect to hide a diamond engagement Ring for example.

The next step is creating the waters edge, to make it all look very natural. After that I double check everything and is should be finished.

If you click on the images you can see large close ups.
